Junior Business Analyst

Job Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for delivering value for the business and stakeholders. The Business Analyst provides functional and non-functional requirements for solutions that meet the needs of the stakeholders and the business itself. This key role moves freely between Boosts customers, payment partners like processors and card brands, and Boosts departments including Business Development, Customer Service, Operations, and Technology, to collect the requirements and deliver them to the Payment Implementation Lead for prioritization, development, and implementation. The ideal candidate has proven communication, business analysis, and project management skills, supported by a strong background in card payments (preferably business-to-business).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out the responsibilities of a business analyst in a dynamic, agile payments processing environment.
  • Work closely with the users and external customers to understand their business processes and requirements.
  • Document detailed business and process analysis and create user stories for the development team.
  • Contribute expertise and ideas to the solution designs.
  • Work closely with the development team to explain and elaborate stories and ensure that the acceptance criteria are clearly and unambiguously stated.
  • Support the team through the development of a given feature, providing domain knowledge as required.
  • Work with users to deliver the full scope and business value of a given feature.
  • Actively contribute to the daily team stand-ups.
  • Agree and gain sign-off of the business requirements with the user and the Payment Implementation Lead.
  • Conduct user demos of new functionality.
  • Maintain the user story backlog for a given user story/feature.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years of business analysis and change experience
  • 2+ years in payments - B2B card payments experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable reading code and interacting with databases
  • Comfortable interfacing with various teams to gather requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills verbal and written
  • Proven experience with the agile methodology and the Scrum framework
  • Proficient Confluence and Jira experience
  • Previous AWS experience
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Additional skills a plus:
  • Experience with both small companies and large enterprises
  • Technology and regulatory compliance experience

Compensation

  • $90,000 annual salary plus monthly commissions, medical vision and dental insurance, 401K, PTO, HSA.
